wow, Matt. I have no clue where that could have come from, what it means, or that your online personality is evolving into such a thing.

Church as embassy. You know, like an embassy. We are, in a sense, voyagers in a foreign land. Is the Church, then, a Kingdom Embassy as one might find a USA Embassy in, say, Germany, or Sweden.

ahhh I see. Its late in the semester, it takes me a while. Intriguing thought. At first I want to think that perhaps it is, because of the reconciliation of the world in Christ which has and is taking place that makes me say, "what if the world who having not heard about Christ is the stranger." But then again, my gut tells me this is a stretch. Perhaps we are, like you say, a stranger in a strange land. Another thought: Embassy is co-existance, true enough, but what if we were more to think of the church as pioneers, blazing a path of Christ if you will. Still slow, sorry if it rambles.

I arrived at the same. At first I thought "Whoa, the church is an embassy." About two seconds later, I figured "no. no not really." lol. But Mike strong-armed me into posting the thought. So there it is. A dead end question.
